Vietnam is a country that touches you. The scent of street food, the tranquility of the rice fields, the grandeur of the bay, and the liveliness of the cities – everything breathes culture and history. During this 9-day round trip, you travel from the capital Hanoi to the legendary Lan Ha Bay, on to charming Hoi An and the bustling metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. The trip is fully halal-friendly and accompanied by a local English-speaking guide.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Flight Amsterdam → Hanoi | Arrival & free evening (January 28)

After arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be met by a guide and taken to the hotel by private transfer. The evening is free. Lunch and dinner are at your own arrangement.

Day 2 – Hanoi city tour (January 29)

A day full of history: we visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (exterior), the former residence of President Ho Chi Minh, and the iconic One Pillar Pagoda. Then we visit Masjid Al-Noor, a place of prayer for local and foreign Muslims for over 100 years. After lunch, we explore the Temple of Literature, enjoy a tuk-tuk ride, and visit Ngoc Son Temple at the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake. The day ends with a traditional water puppet show. Dinner at your own arrangement.

Day 3 – Hanoi → Lan Ha Bay | On board (January 30)

After breakfast, we travel to Tuan Chau Marina to board the Mon Cheri Cruise. During the cruise, we sail past impressive limestone formations. We transfer to a traditional fishing boat and explore the bay up close. In the evening, dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 4 – Lan Ha Bay (January 31)

We wake up in the middle of a spectacular seascape. Optional activities include kayaking, swimming, cycling, and a visit to the remote fishing village of Viet Hai, surrounded by the jungle of Cat Ba National Park. Lunch and dinner on board.

Day 5 – Lan Ha Bay → Hanoi → Danang → Hoi An [Brunch] (February 1)

After a morning on the water, we return to Hanoi and fly on to Danang. Upon arrival, we are picked up and transferred to Hoi An. Dinner at your own arrangement.

Day 6 – Danang & Hoi An (February 2)

We explore Danang with a visit to the Cham Museum, Marble Mountain, and Non Nuoc Beach. Back in Hoi An, we enjoy a walking tour through the historic city center: the colorful market, the Tan Ky Old House, the Fukien Assembly Hall, and the famous 400-year-old Japanese covered bridge. Dinner at your own arrangement.

Day 7 – Hoi An → Danang → Ho Chi Minh City (February 3)

After breakfast, we drive to Danang airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. After arrival and check-in, the rest of the day is free. Lunch and dinner at your own arrangement.

Day 8 – Ho Chi Minh City (February 4)

A full day through the bustling metropolis: we visit the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the colonial Central Post Office. After lunch, we explore Chinatown, the Binh Tay market, and Thien Hau Temple. The highlight: a visit to the Musulman Mosque, one of the city’s largest and most famous mosques, originally built in 1935. Dinner at your own arrangement.

Day 9 – Departure Ho Chi Minh City → Amsterdam (February 5)

After breakfast, private transfer to the airport for the flight back to the Netherlands.

The stay

We stay in comfortable hotels in Hanoi (Tirant Hanoi), Hoi An (Emerald Hoi An Riverside), and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon Prince), supplemented by two nights on board the Mon Cheri Cruise on Lan Ha Bay in an Ocean Suite with a balcony.
